Tomorrow is the Plate Race, our first down tide race of the year. The start is at 09:45 off Portishead pier. The start/finish line will be an extension of SE wall of the pier (i.e. when you can look straight down the wall of the pier towards the marina lock then you’re on the line) while remaining to the south of the shipping channel. Unfortunately I can’t make it, so if you’re planning to enter and would like to volunteer for OOD from the water then please let me know. The OOD will need to announce the course, provide 5/4/1 minute countdown to the start, shorten course if needs be, collect finish times and calculate results (Elapsed Time x 1000 / Handicap = Corrected Time, using handicaps published here: http://pccsail.com/blog/2015/04/24/handicaps-3/). If no one volunteers in advance I’ll publish details on the course here later. Looks like it’ll be a lovely day for a sail!
